A FISHMONGER from South Wales has finally been crowned British Fish Craft Champion - after 41 years of competing.Mike Crates, who started working as a fishmonger as soon as he left school, had won second " plaice" in the industry competition 19 times, but the top spot had always eluded him.The 56-year-old, from Penarth, said: " It has always been my ambition to win. I have come close so many times, but it feels great to win. I am absolutely over the moon."
