Soviet Caspian Sea oil fields. Road bridge connecting oil wells in the Serebrovsky offshore oil field, in the Caspian Sea, near Baku, Azerbaijan, in June 1978. Oil is a raw material that is refined into fossil fuels and other products. It is obtained by drilling down to reach underground oil deposits. Here, the oil is below the seabed. In 1978, Azerbaijan was part of the Soviet Union. The oil industry in Azerbaijan was nationalized soon after the Soviet Union invaded in 1920. The Oil Committee of Azerbaijan was created to run the industry, and A. P. Serebrovsky, for whom this oil field is named, was appointed by Lenin to lead the committee. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang.
